Top things to avoid while visiting

(Tourist traps, going at the wrong time of the day, not buying tickets in advance for X event, things that will ruin your trip, scams, etc…)

  • Always book in advance the Duomo climb, at least 2 weeks and a month in high season
  • In summer Florence is super hot! Always wear an hat and carry water
  • At sunset the Piazzale Michelangelo is packed, but The Abbazia of San Miniato al Monte is not…and is higher!
  • Be aware of pickpockets! In high season bump in each other is normal so be alert
  • Leather markets are ok but don’t trust any crazy technique such as: the fire proof test, smell and feel. Also no scratching and discounts that are too good to be true. Go with your guts, fake or not, if you love it is all good!
