Go to the top of El Corte Inglés in Plaza Cataluña and enjoy the views. There is a food court. Free entrance.

If you get the chance, check out “Palo Alto Market Fest”. Only available certains dates. Check on line. Really good vibes, live music.

Antic Teatre (one of the few secret patios in the city . It's a bar full of locals. Very affordable)
Top must-do activities in the city:

Explore the area of Gracia. It's really cool.

Check out Palau de La Música. There is a cafeteria inside. Free entrance.

Check out Hospital Sant Pau. Very close to Sagrada Familia. Stunning Building.

Visit the food markets (from touristy to less touristy: La boquería, Santa Caterina and Sant Antoni)

Enjoy the sunset in one of the bars in Port Vell, close to Museo de Historia de Cataluña.
Top things to avoid while visiting:

Avoid eating on Las Ramblas. Very touristy and expensive.

Be careful with pickpockets in busy areas.

Do not show up to Sagrada Familia or any of the main attractions without tickets. You should book in advance.

Do not assume it is easy to find good paellas in Barcelona.

Do not ask or try to buy tickets for bull fights. They have been illegal in Catalonia for years.
